A source has told the Chicago Tribune that Andre Dawson prefers to wear a Chicago Cubs hat on his plaque when he is inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame this summer. Premier Darrelle Revis Jersey . Dawson, who played ten seasons with the Montreal Expos and six with the Cubs, was elected to the baseball shrine this week on his ninth attempt. He was named Rookie of the Year with the Expos in 1977, and had his best individual season with Chicago in 1987, when he hit 49 home runs and had 137 runs batted in to capture National League MVP honours. Speaking on Thursday on "Chicago Tribune Live", Dawson said he knew "in my heart of hearts" which cap he would like to be wearing, but he didnt go so far as to identify his preferred club. The Hall of Fame allowed players to make the cap decision until 2001, when the shrine changed the rules and decided to make the call instead. In addressing his Chicago-based audience for the Tribune, Dawson discussed his years with the Cubs. "Im grateful the Cubs organization gave me the opportunity to wear their uniform," said Dawson. "I played a little bit longer in Montreal. Of course, thats where I got my initial start. But Ill tell you, going to Wrigley Field, playing in the Friendly Confines amongst the Cubs fans, that was amazing in itself. "That really rejuvenated my career, I think, and put me at a point in time where I was unsure about myself in the game, and how much longer I was going to stay in the game. The way the Cubs fan embraced me that first year pretty much propelled me on to win the National League MVP award and I owe that organization a lot for believing in me. Bills Jersey .
